Little Mamas hair appoint. this morning. Its a day early, but Im leaving tomorrow for the Barbara Vey Reader Appreciation Luncheon in Milwaukee. She never knows what day it is anyway, so she didnt know the difference, but it was thirty minutes earlier, which DID put her in a snit. Its all over now, but good grief, Gracie, she was a pill until I got her in the car. LOL Now shes home and taking a nap with her shower cap on. I didnt even comment when I saw her crawl in bed with it. Whatever floats her boat works for me. And speaking of floating boats, it rained a little here last night and seem threatening rain again now, which has the guys building my pool deck in a dither. They know Im leaving tomorrow and I suspect theyre anxious to get paid, but not until its finished. They lost a day on Tuesday because of rain but theres nothing anyone could do. Weather is always in charge of outdoor events. Trying to pack suitcases to take to the luncheon and one whole suitcase is full of stuff for the readers at my table. Such fun to get it all together!! Its like Christmas watching them dig through the bags and find what Ive been gathering. Ill take a picture of the table after I get it set up to show you after I get back. Im giving the welcome address. Its really more of a Hi yall because its too short to be an address, but trust me, they appreciate short. LOL I have several recurring dreams from time to time and had one of them last night. Ugh. Its the conference dream, which I freakin hate, because Im lost the whole time Im there. Cant find my building. Cant find my room. Cant see for all the people milling about. Find someone to take me there and I lose him in the crowd. Get on elevators and they dont go to my floor. Lose my speech. Lose my purse. Lose my bag with presents in it. Do you get the drift. Its all about confusion and loss, which is exactly whats happening here when I try to take a trip. Whos gonna watch LM and for how long and what if I am delayed getting back then whos gonna take care of her and on and on and on. I borrow so much trouble before it actually happens I must be in debt to the universe clear into the next century. Good thing I wont live that long. wont have to pay it back. LOL At any rate, my stress factor is through the roof... but, Oven Stew is made for while Im gone and molasses cookies are in the cookie jar. At least Im not leaving an empty fridge behind me. sigh Beware of soft-spoken people. Their gentle nature is often mistaken for reticence. It doesnt mean they will let people run over them, or that they dont have the gumption to speak for themselves. It just means that when they get fed up and deck you, you wont see it coming.
