Little medical update for those wanting to know. Feeling fairly well these days. Still battle fatigue and weakness at times, but I rest when I need to!! The one awful side effect that is ongoing is a skin reaction on my face. IT IS HORRIBLE! I literally look like I have leprosy. It keeps me from being able to go much of anywhere but again, thats not all that bad. I have great family and friends who keep me entertained here at the house. It makes Christmas decorating and shopping difficult, but Im not worried too much about that. I have tried every trick in the book to help and little does. It is extremely painful. My face becomes swollen and has sores all over it that just randomly bleed. I literally can not even touch it with a cotton ball. The doctors say this is a side effect of the current chemo and are hopeful that it will decrease the longer I do the treatment. I have had 2 treatments out of the scheduled 6 doses. Lately I have days that my attitude seems a little down and I search myself as to why. Perhaps it is the normal stresses of the holiday season that many people feel. Maybe it is simply that I cant smile because my face is stiff as board!! LOL - All I know is that we all have times we feel down. The lesson for me is that we dont stay there. We get up. We pick ourselves up. We encourage ourselves. I do this in a very easy way that everyone can do. I start counting my blessings. Literally, out loud, I begin to say all that is so good in my life. AMAZING!!! - before long - not so down anymore, but filled with gratitude and hope. God is good and He does all things well.
