Live life. Take care of yourself and see today as the best day of your life. Work through bumps in your journey by offering gratitude to yourself and others (family, patients, all those people who drive you crazy) everyday. Make your work and your life count. Let yourself be a student from the students you teach (patients, children whomever). Honor yourself with the things you encourage in others like self-care. Mindfulness encompasses the word awareness or being aware. Give yourself permission to experience the presence of your life and the awareness of the senses. Encompass your humanity in qualities of being a person who, through noticing and then softening, is able to shift judgments, anger, sadness, and the like, and be with what is as it is arising. Remember mindfulness helps, but you help, you are mindfulness, not some textbook or curriculum, you are a mindful human being who can offer your presence to another with compassion and joy. If this is what you choose to do I believe you will be working with these things for the rest of your life. I wish you much success as your journey unfolds.
