Living Life Gods Way John 20:24-29 NLT[24] One of the twelve disciples, Thomas (nicknamed the Twin), was not with the others when Jesus came. [25] They told him, We have seen the Lord! But he replied, I wont believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands, put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in his side. [26] Eight days later the disciples were together again, and this time Thomas was with them. The doors were locked; but suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them. Peace be with you, he said. [27] Then he said to Thomas, Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Put your hand into the wound in my side. Dont be faithless any longer. Believe! [28] My Lord and my God! Thomas exclaimed. [29] Then Jesus told him, You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me. Faithful or faithless...there comes a times when each of us will be found out; whether we are right with God or not! Our actions prove it! If your faith is working, your actions will show it. Our deeds will be the tattle-tale sign! What you believe can not remain hidden! Your actions show if you have faith! Whether you believe because you have seen or whether you believe without seeing; there comes a time when you will have to state your case. Being faithless, having to see in order to believe, doesnt prove your faith. Faith is believing without seeing! Scripture teaches that without faith it is impossible to please God. Faith is a great mystery...God gave each of us a measure of faith, what you do with that faith is vitally important. You can choose to not use it or you can choose to increase it. The choice is yours... Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. FAITH IS JUST BELIEVING! LOOK AROUND, IS NOT WHAT YOU SEE ENOUGH, TO BELIEVE THAT THERE IS A GOD? Hebrews 11:1 NLT[1] Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. Hebrews 11:3 NLT[3] By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at Gods command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. 1 Timothy 3:16 NLT[16] Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith: Christ was revealed in a human body and vindicated by the Spirit. He was seen by angels and announced to the nations. He was believed in throughout the world and taken to heaven in glory. James 2:14-17,19-20 NLT[14] What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but dont show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? [15] Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, [16] and you say, Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well-but then you dont give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? [17] So you see, faith by itself isnt enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. [19] You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. [20] How foolish! Cant you see that faith without good deeds is useless? James 2:21-24 NLT[21] Dont you remember that our ancestor Abraham was shown to be right with God by his actions when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? [22] You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete. [23] And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith. He was even called the friend of God. [24] So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone. Hebrews 11:6 NLT[6] And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. Romans 10:17 NLT[17] So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.
