Living for God does NOT mean having greater cases of conviction in your life to a point where there is absolutely NO PEACE, HOPE or JOY at all, any more than living for God means having more boundaries of dos and donts. Inviting the prince of peace in our lives only brings forth peace, so, many of us who live for God aught to not condemn themselves in such a way to where they LOOK LIKE they are walking self-beaten down people when Jesus TOOK that beating Himself to spare not only us from it, but also our final outcome of getting more than just a beating. God did not intend for man to hide and beat themselves up or especially hide from the very same light that can shatter the same darkness that man often hides in due to fake guilt and shame.
