Living the blessed life series, This week’s focal point is “Prayer Prayer is not optional, it’s vital to those who will live the Blessed Life in 2014. Prayer changes thing, people, climate etc …Prayer is a blessed opportunity, a benefit. It’s a blessing to commune with God in prayer, What a glorious privilege! John 16:23-24 - Whatever you ask the Father in my name {Jesus} this I will do that the Father may be glorified in the son. Jesus is our mediator. We pray in Jesus name, this is true for salvation and our Supplication. We come in Christ name alone. John 15:7 - If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express (Romans 8:26).The Holy Spirit prays Gods will, rely on Him for help. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7) This week we will avail ourselves to prayer-God awaken in us a passion for prayer. Meditation verse: Monday- 1 Chronicles 16:11 Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always. Tuesday- 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing Wednesday- Mark 11:24 - Therefore I say unto you, What things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive [them], and ye shall have [them]. Thursday- Psalms 55:17 - Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice. Friday- This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of him (1 John 5:14-15). Saturday- Luke 6:12 One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God. Sunday-2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land
