Living with Confidence in a Chaotic World -- Dr. David Jeremiah I can’t recall enjoying a more treasure-filled sermon in some time than this from David Jeremiah who spoke a few months back during the Pattern & Promises Prophecy Conference late last Fall. Here are several of the rewarding nuggets that bring together a theme of living diligently for the Lord in these final, most urgent moments we have left on earth. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We are to... WATCH VIGANTLY; WAR VALIANTLY; WALK VIRTUOUSLY; & WAIT VICTORIOUSLY! LIVING PRO-ACTIVELY with PURPOSE & URGENCY as we recognize the daily prophetic relevance of the bible. Future events cast their shadows before them. We see the signs pointing to Christ’s second coming more and more as the days go by and as they continue to exponentially increase in intensity and frequency. When we see a crowd gathered at the bust stop…. is it not a clear sign the bus is due to arrive at any moment. These are not a group of ‘date-setters’!! When we see shopping malls all decorated for the Christmas Season while it’s not yet even December…. how much sooner will Thanksgiving arrive? This is not ‘Date-setting’. It is a reasonable recognition of the times at hand. Christ said that when all these things begin to take place, we should look up for our redemption draws nigh.” He was referring to His second coming while speaking to the Jewish people. We see all these signs in great detail and in day to day headlines, even at this point. So, how much sooner will the ultimate redemption of His Bride take place? Well, in literal terms, at least seven years, even more if the Tribulation Period starts weeks or months after our ‘Catching Away.’ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Have we not been discussing the topic of the eternal assurance of our salvation so feverishly lately? D.J. covers this as well. THE THREE TENSES OF SALVATION: All three tenses are roughly summed up in 2 Cor. 1:10: Who delivered us (past tense) from so great a death, and doth deliver (present tense): in whom we trust that he will (future tense) yet deliver us. I. THE PAST TENSE OF SALVATION; We have been saved from the PENALTY of sin. II. THE PRESENT TENSE OF SALVATION We are being saved from the POWER of sin. III. THE FUTURE TENSE OF SALVATION We shall be saved from the PRESENCE of sin. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And, one more treasure I wanted to highlight that David relates to in this message is ...THE TWO NATURES WITHIN CHRISTIANS: We have the old sinful nature within us and we have the new Spirit nature within us. Which one is in control? Which nature are you investing in? The bible tells us in no uncertain terms that we can not serve two masters. “Two natures beat within my breast - The one is foul, the one is blessed - The one i love, the one I hate - The one I feed…..will Dominate!!” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I hope you all will find time to listen to this wonderful message. There are even a few good laughs to be had as well as all the gold-panned goodness within. I will be complimenting this thread with additional comments that tie in to the things I have written of above. Enjoy and be greatly blessed by the scripture he shares and inspired by the calling he challenges us to as pro-active Believer’s with only a short time left to make an impact and difference in our lives and in those around us - For the ultimate glory of God and His Kingdom to come ~ jeff robb
