Livingston- District Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux reports that the following individuals appeared in court on November 3, 2014, before Judge Doug Hughes, and either pleaded guilty or no contest or were found guilty of the following crimes and received the following sentences: Landon Adams, age 25, of Denham Springs, LA, pleaded no contest to driving while intoxicated (2nd offense), and two counts of possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances. He was sentenced to serve 100 days in the parish jail for the first offense, five years with the department of corrections for the second offense, and two years with the department of corrections for the third offense. He must also pay a $500.00 fine and court costs, and complete random drug testing. Myra Edwards, age 26, of Springfield, LA, pleaded no contest to misdemeanor carnal knowledge of a juvenile. She was sentenced to serve six months in the parish jail. The sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on two year of probation. She must also pay a $500.00 fine and court costs. Kirk King, age 62, of Denham Springs, LA, pleaded no contest to misdemeanor illegal possession of stolen things under $500.00. He was sentenced to serve 100 days in the parish jail. Julius Smith, age 22, of Holden, LA, pleaded no contest to theft $500.00-$1,500.00, and simple burglary. He was sentenced to serve five years with the department of corrections for the first offense and seven years for the second, to be served concurrently. The sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on seven years of probation. He must also pay court costs and restitution, and complete a substance abuse evaluation. Julius Smith, age 22, of Holden, LA, pleaded no contest to theft of a firearm. He was sentenced to serve five years with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on seven years of probation. He must also pay court costs and complete a substance abuse evaluation.
