Lobster Bash rope splicing and coiling results Jamie Thibodeau won the Lobster Bash’s rope splicing contest and came third in the rope coiling competition. The Lobster Bash held the rope splicing and rope coiling contests in the Digby rink Saturday, July 5. Prizes for both events were $200 for first prize, $150 for second prize and $150 for third. The rope splicing contestants have to splice two ropes together with a minimum of three weaves and splice a loop in the end of one rope. Thibideau not only recorded the best time of 2:25 but also best marks for neatness with only three faults. Brandon Carty came second with a time of 2:47 and five faults. Wylie Walker was third in a time of 3:03 with three faults. Kelly Allbright won the rope coiling contest with a time of 22.56 and one fault. Trevor Frost came second with one fault in 23.26. Thibideau was third with three faults in 22.12.
