Local Curator Jennifer Zwilling gives us this peek into her Thanksgiving dinner along with a wish list of handmade dishes to serve it on. Our Thanksgiving will start with a shared moment of calm over coffee drunk from mugs made by Jennifer D. Martin. Next we’ll travel north where we’ll find a little less calm and 25 members of our family at my parents’ house. They have hosted the holiday there for the last 23 years. My favorite part of the Thanksgiving meal is the spread of traditional Italian family appetizers. Silky paper-thin slices of sweet Coppa and Prosciutto di Parma are draped over Theresa Changs pristine white Enso Platter. Autumn Cipalas delicately ornamented Platter is stacked with cubes of Torta di Patate made with my Nonna’s recipe (something like this one thefreshloaf/node/14878/torta-di-patate ). Mushrooms stuffed with garlicky breadcrumbs are arranged on Naomi Clearys Oval Platter and chunks of Grana Padano cheese are piled under the lid of Jeff Campanas Lotus Cheese Plate. (epicurious/recipes/food/views/Stuffed-Mushrooms-107963) All these delicious nibbles are crowned by Julie Crosbys basket piled with crusty slices of Italian bread specially imported from Brooklyn by my uncle. Who has room for turkey?
