Local Winter Rules Winter Mats - Teeing up: As from the 1st - TopicsExpress

Local Winter Rules Winter Mats - Teeing up: As from the 1st December, whilst playing in any friendly, we ask members to tee up or use Mats “THROUGH THE GREEN”, this covers seniors on a Monday, Ladies day and any other NON competition format. Any COMPETITION played throughout the allocated months in which mats/teeing up is in progress, i.e., Winter League, Professional competitions, we ask members to ONLY tee up or use mats through the green from within 150 yards. We ask you to please consider the course, it has been in fantastic condition all year round, and using the mats/teeing up worked very well, so if you are using a tee please can we ask you to actually tee the ball up and not put it too low as to take a divot, we know it’s not favourable to most members, but, this is winter golf, and you are not playing in any qualifier or playing for a row of houses. This rule will apply December, January and February and may be extended depending on weather conditions. Flag Attending: As from December 1st, the attending of the flag is forbidden, you may have the flag left in or taken out, and there is NO PENALTY for striking the flag whilst being left in. This proved a great success last year with no or very little wear around the hole, and also speeded the game up. Traffic Markers: Another local rule will be put in place, in an attempt to stop members from moving the traffic metal white markers, and not replacing them. If any member is within one club length from a marker, then it is permissible to take a free drop, two club lengths from the marker, no nearer the hole. An updated new Local Rules sheet has now been placed on the notice board to this effect. A selection of mats are now available in the Pro Shop, currently at no charge, but please note that this is on the basis of strictly one mat per member. Match & Handicap Committee.
