Local influence #1: Artist: Skywynd Album: Oxygen This powerhouse 5-piece was fairly well-known in the Twin Cities area in the Early 2000s. They changed their name to Crash anthem in 2007, but somehow fell off the map shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, I never got to see them perform live. :( I ended up with a copy of Oxygen, and was instantly inspired by the level of talent and creativity that came from this band—specifically, the incredible drumming. Wallys vocals are in-your face, and the addition of a synth gives each song an extra kick! From the head-banging opener, to their better-than-the-original rendition of Another Brick in the Wall, Oxygen is a fantastic album!
