Local people with reduced mobility have called on Disability Action, and its local transport provider, DART Rural Transport, to provide a more reliable service. Well-known community figure David McKay, from Huntly Bungalows, and fellow service user Gary Hamilton, from Iveagh Walk, rely heavily on the DART minibus, since they both have reduced mobility. While the standard of service provided by local transport firm Chambers, the company commissioned by the government, used to be satisfactory, this all changed when Disability Action took over as the designated transport provider in early April.
