Locals in Brisbanes eastern suburbs today celebrated the opening of their own Mens Shed as part of International Mens Health Week (9-15 June). Shadow Minister for Mental Health and Queensland Senator Jan McLucas Member for Griffith, Terri Butler MP joined members of the local community for the official opening of the Carina Mens Shed. Senator McLucas said Mens Sheds have become well known right across the country as meeting places where men can find friendship and camaraderie. We know Mens Sheds have been really helpful in raising awareness and promoting mens health, especially their mental health and well-being, Senator McLucas said.
