Location- A small village near Allahabad. Okay! So this story was narrated to me by my mausi (mothers sister). She had this strange habit of holding the edge of my nanis (Maternal Grandmother) saari while walking when she was a kid. (that is called sari ka pallu) One day my nana (Maternal Grandfather) had gone to the city for some work and was expected late at night. My nani and mausi were wide awake and were waiting for him. It was around 11 when they heard a distant noise of a jeep and mausi and nani went downstairs to open the door for him. Nani ran a little fast leaving mausi lagging behind a little. When my mausi reached downstairs she saw that nani was going in the other direction of the house (or I should say Haveli). All the other people were sleeping and it was pitch dark in the house. My mausi called my nani and asked her to open the door as nana would be waiting outside but nani did not say anything and walked away. My mausi even tried to hold her pallu but she couldnt. Not even when she was just beside her. My nani stopped in front of the washroom and said that she is going to take a bath and asked mausi to stand there only. She was talking to her while the tap was running. She asked her if she had her dinner and all the random stuff while my mausi insisted on opening the door for nanu. Suddenly the sound of the water stopped and somebody tapped on my mausis shoulder and when she turned around, to her horror she found Nani standing there. Nani started scolding for coming in that area of the house alone. Mausi was shocked and she went to the washroom only to find it empty and the floor was dry. She fell unconscious there and then. When we tried to ask nani about this then after a lot of persuasion she confirmed the incident. According to her it was my nanas first wife who had died while giving birth. I cant explain you the look of horror when my mausi was narrating this. She said she couldnt decide who actually was real?
