Log: 2014.01.14 Jo [1hr]: More study of the first 3 kata. Reviewed each one separately, then ran through them as a continuous flow. Taijutsu [1.5hrs]: Started with leg-threads, yoko-ukemi, and inifinities from 4pp. Then more review of torite kihon goho. Bio-mechanical correlations between omotegyaku and mushdori, and uragyaku and musodori. Different connection points, but same outcome. Think with your feet. Touched on variations of uragyaku; i.e. hongyaku, gozendori. Then progressions of mushadori, and musodori. We learn the fundamentals from grabs. That provides a fixed point reference to build upon. When we study them from a punch, there is no fixed point of reference. We have to create them [for ourselves], but in a way that aite cannot feel. If they can feel it, they can understand it, and stop it.
