Falck Despatcher Princy Athma was on her way to work on 16th December when she witnessed a motorbike accident at Werahera. A young man was badly injured. Immediately, Princy’s training in First Aid kicked in and she was on the scene advising and assisting the victims to minimize bleeding and further damage usually caused by bodily lifting and carrying injured persons. She used a clean handkerchief to apply pressure on a bleeding cut and ice from nearby to stop the swelling on the forehead. It was 7.21am and Princy instructed the onlookers to call 1990. Within 12 minutes, the Falck Ambulance was on the spot and victim taken to hospital. Princy was wearing the Falck T-Shirt that morning and the people around the accident followed her instructions. Even the traffic police had recognized the Falck Logo! Many took down the emergency number and were amazed at the team work and the quick response! As promised - We are Always There! Call 1990 for Care!
