Long Walk To Internet Freedom My friend introduced me to internet. And now, I teach him about internet - Jetty Jet Its 10 years now Ive strolled in internet world. I look back to see how far the technology has evolved and how it has evolved me too. Excellence inclined mindset and the zeal to achieve excellency all these years has bestowed on me to be more resourceful and hardworking in the field of web technology. The first time I experienced internet surfing was with my friends phone. Everything seemed weird and confusing. The fascination began when I discovered interesting products the internet has to offer. Well, as of that time, mobile downloads like games, themes and wallpapers were the trending order. Games like Real football 2006, Prince of Persia, Splinter Cell were the most popular then. And pictures of Lamborini car, action movies and music stars tops the chart of picture download. And of course, websites like waptrick, wapking, wapday and sefan.ru were the only websites we knew. A search engine like Google was never popular among young internet enthusiasts like me then. Not until 2008. And today, gone are the years when I admit being a noob, more of a novice as Ive walked through the lawn and isle of internet and spawned myself within its most intimate niches and portals. And what is here is a seasoned internet expert. Down the walklane, as the knowledge of web technology illuminates each day, new things are being discovered. Selffish desires began to arise. Quest for supremacy among contemproraries made us to look into making a difference so as to have what to brag with as part of our greatness above em. Well, the much I remembered was to own a website like the ones we goto download our apps and games. After various research, we embarked on creating websites through platforms like Xtgem, Wapka, Mobileweb.tr, wapbuilder and the rest of them. As clueless as we were, we never relented but continued to strife. In the case of Wapka, it introduced me to the world of Html. After some google search and tutorials found in some indian site and some Naija sites, we leaped and keyed in as wapmasters yet webmasters. Lolzz. But today, the story is no longer the same. As much knowledge has been acquired and skills improved in my career of internet technology. From using online site builders to create websites, to create simple websites with html templates, to code advanced websites using softwares like Dreamweaver, to develope websites with Microsoft Visual Studio, to develope complex applications powered with various CMSs of which includes Wordpress, Drupal, Joomla, Concrete5, Moodle, phpmyBB, Simple Machine, OpenCart and many more of them which Jetty has mastered. Its worth remembering this as Ive seen how much Ive progressed and the things Ive achieved. The new friends I met online who has the same interest I have, have also in various way contributed to my success. Apart from being a self acclaimed Web Developer, Ive earned certifications in it as well in various recognised institutions. Throughout this decade of meritorious web arcade, Ive been able to set up legacies thatll vindicate my aura as an internepreneur. It includes my firm Jetty Technologies which offers Website Development services and other ICT services. Another one is Jetty ICT Academy. A virtual academy that focuses on teaching people ICT trends. True to say, no man is self made! But, Ive conquered the world I found myself in to earn a blueprint name for myself written on a gold platter through my innovativeness. And to shout out on this momentous period, I thank all my friends, my fellow webmasters in the hustle run, fans, family members, my niggerets and my crew members.
