Long ago, in a land of a thousand lakes and many prairies, there was this legal protection for airline workers: B. Discipline And Discharge Grievances 1. Right to Union Representation a. When a Flight Attendant is requested to meet with management regarding matters which are disciplinary, or when a discussion with management becomes disciplinary, he/she shall be informed of the specific subject(s) to be discussed prior to the meeting, and that he/she has a right to Union representation. If such representation is requested by the Flight Attendant, the manager shall take reasonable steps to delay the meeting until a Union Representative can attend. Is there some reason why all employees at an airline do not deserve that ^^ kind of peace-of-mind? Or is it better for the employee to not know why s/he is being called in for a meeting? Maybe there is a Delta manager or supervisor who could explain why it is better to keep the employee in the dark, to this old retired Flight Attendant.
