Long story, bear with...Levi was let go from his job three weeks - TopicsExpress

Long story, bear with...Levi was let go from his job three weeks ago, because the owners decided to sell the company. No notice. No severance. No thank you for your service. Nothing. Worse, they withheld his sales commission, which he rightfully earned and which we could certainly use in light of the whole out of a job thing. They wouldnt answer or return his phone calls. We were obviously mad and upset, wondering what we could do to right their wrong...at one point, I even suggested something that Levi informed me - while tempting - was extortion and therefore illegal. Ooopsies. Finally, last night we reached a point where we had let go of our anger and decided to handle things as God would call us to do. The head of the company had agreed to meet face-to-face with Levi today to hear him out. Levi was going to approach him not with threats and accusations, but to request they consider how hard Levi had worked for that company and to honor that loyalty and work by giving him his due pay. If they didnt, Levi would simply leave - no name-calling, yelling or breaking anything. No lie, we had just finished having this conversation about handling it in a Godly way, when Levi got an email thru his phone from the guy saying no need to come in and meet today - they would mail him his commission check. *gulp* I share this not to say were Christians, so God totally had our back and worked it out to our advantage. Life doesnt always work like that, and God is so much greater than a genie in the bottle for us to let out to work magic when we need Him. Umm, no. My takeaway is this...God sat back and watched as we initially responded as humans - angry, upset, plotting revenge - until we came to a place where we were willing to let go of us, and instead show God to these men in our handling of the situation. The point isnt we got our money, which yay!, but that even if we hadnt, He gave us this opportunity to mature in our walk and our handling of matters with others. To Him be the glory for showing Himself in His patience with us and belief that we would come around and represent Him - not human nature.
