Longing for ski season? Us too! The Economic Growth Office at USAID partnered with Youth Hostel NGO “Auberge Beity” in Kfardebiane, Mount Lebanon, to improve the ski trails and services offered to skiers. This partnership, with $89,000 of funding from USAID, works with 23 micro and small rural tourism enterprises to improve the quality of local services, increase the income of local ski guides and local businesses, and provide affordable winter sport activities. With this project, the future cross-country skiing locations, covering 5km and 8km trails close to the ski station, will allow a greater number of skiers to access the trails that pass through a natural reserve!
