Look Back: Bit by the love bug The Hotshots were never shy to take the old leap into love. Love was found quickly as housemates were flung this way and that by their infatuations. But things weren’t all rosy, as it always is with love. Not before too long – and perhaps on the morning after – things got complicated. Here is a look back at the love hits and misses over the rambunctious Hotshots season. Nhlanhla and Sheillah made a connection as quick as lightning and it never really stopped. They resembled a married couple of sorts as they hardly left the other’s side. When Biggie gave them a punishment, chaining them to each other, for sneaking around and communicating in secret they found no hard times here. We have to give them credit, however, for being the last standing couple in the house. Then Laveda fell head over heels for none other than musical playboy Permithias. Although theirs was a short-lived romance, it was inspiring to see him spring to her side when housemates threw shade at her for having a drink too many. Goitse and Idris were a complex pair. He saw the love of his life in her but she saw trouble. He chased and chased until her constant rejection flung him into the arms of Samantha – but JJ wasn’t going to have that – so he then landed on Ellah’s doorstep. Ellah and he also ended up at complication station as he couldn’t decide whether he wanted to be with her on not. This of course made Ellah most upset, but the belle couldn’t help all her infatuation. Luis and Mira – LuMira – were the success story as we were treated to their full circle moment of their love in the house in the final week. After his Mira left so early on Luis was one cut-up fellow – even suggesting that it would be better if he left to reunite with her on the outside. Permithias helped him write the famous “Mira on the Wall” which was laid to a steaming track and played to the housemates this week. On stage IK caught up with LuMira and finally we were getting to know the couple. Luis announced his love for her and the question of her dalliance with Nhlanhla he had overlooked a long time ago. The couple were a picture of love. Love came in all shapes and sizes this time around. The question was however, if love would thrive outside of Biggies four walls.
