Look Only to God Read 1 Samuel 18:1 through 20:42 Saul was very angry; this refrain displeased him greatly. “They have credited David with tens of thousands,” he thought, “but me with only thousands. What more can he get but the kingdom?” (1 Samuel 18:8). This dark world growls with resentment over God’s triumphs. All too often, those around us would rather bludgeon us with negative feedback than recognize the divine power working in and through us. Instead of looking to those around us for approval, we must focus with faith-filled determination on the Savior’s approving smile.
