Look, Ruby Ridge and Waco were indisputably bad outcomes. But Im afraid its even worse when the US Government lets a bunch of White Supremacists and Militia types intimidate it into backing down in the midst of an enforcement action. This is the same premise as negotiating with terrorists. Now that theyre convinced they can win an armed confrontation with the Federal Government, the next time there will be more of them, with more guns and more rhetoric and really bad things are going to happen. A democratic government maintains a monopoly on the use of force because the alternative is anarchy. The Obama administration is going to regret this...
