Look at Umar al-Khattab. During his time, a man came to complain to him. He came and knocked at the door. And as soon as he knocked one time, he heard Umars wife was yelling at him, screaming at the top of her lungs. He backed up and started walking away, and Umar comes up to the door and said, Did you knock? No, no amirul mumineen. It wasnt me. He said, I heard you knocking, what was the need? And he pressed him, the man said, Amirul mumineen, I came to complain to you about my wife. Because she was yelling at me, but I heard at the door and I heard how your wife was yelling at you. So I thought, I might just as well check out. Umar told him, She is the one that is patient with me when I come home, shes the one who cooks for me when Im hungry. Shes the one who I can sleep with when I need my wife. She is the one that bears my children, she is the one that nurses them and cares for them. And none of these are mandatory. Dont I tolerate her for that? Can I not be patient to this woman, who is patient to all of my nonsense on a daily basis? Because she yells at me one time, the world is turning into a different world?
