Look at it this way, the present corrupt political system is like a bucket of shit, you can stir it to the labour left or to the conservative right or you can splash it up and down in the liberal middle. You can add new parties to it and takes some failed ones away but in the end you still only have a political bucket of shit. I propose setting up an umbrella party so that all INDEPENDENT POLITICIANS who hate the party political system can join. That umbrella party would only impose a few restrictions on their personal beliefs or principles. 1. that there is a united government, e.g no government and opposition, 2. all of the H of C elect the prime minister and cabinet ministers 3. the cabinet positions are made up of a 9 person committee so that no single person can ever dictate policy and that the could undertake long term strategic planning. 4. they totally abolish all forms of lobbying and the giving and receiving of money or goods and services for political favors. 5. politicians are paid executive salaries and are barred from any form of second job. 6. politicians can discipline or sack the prime minister or cabinet ministers who would then revert back to being normal politicians. 7. common people can recall and discipline or sack any politician should s/he be incompetent or corrupt. 8. the country is run according to a long term rolling strategic plan that goes well into the future say 50 years that is approved by the common people in a referendum. IS THAT REALLY TOO MUCH TO ASK FROM YOUR GOVERNMENT?
