Look at what one of our fans made!!! Fantastic!!! Michelle is a student at Northern Illinois University studying a Fine Arts and Sculpture. One of her last assignments was to create a precious moment using metal fabrication. She states I make a lot of work about the beauty of nature so I decided to make a cocoon resembling the preciousness of new life and transformation. I started welding my piece together and then I came across your entry on perunature about the urodid moth cocoon. I had built my structure using rings of different sizes because I wanted the form to be hollow and once I came across your article I decided to use that type of cocoon as inspiration for finishing off the piece by sewing together a chrysalis as well as creating a metal leaf for the piece to hang from. I thought I would share some pictures with you of my piece since I gathered inspiration from your images and information. I hope you enjoy! Thanks!
