Look who is being honored next week, our very own Mike Bucci!!!! He really deserves this one folks; besides all of the wonderful things mentioned below, he also heads up Neighborhood Watch for his street, he is an ACTIVE member of various philanthropic organizations, he encourages and educates folks on the importance of voting, he will stop in the middle of a drive and pull out paint to cover graffiti, school yard clean up, holiday food drives and even still offers goodol fashion help like helping someone cross the street if they needed....oh oh oh the list goes on and on. Mike - congratulations to you on this acknowledgement, you definitely worked hard on bringing people together and making a difference! Thank you for everything you have done for me, not only as a colleague but as a friend as well. Newark Local Hero – Mike Bucci. As the event chairman of the Newark Relay for Life, Bucci helped raise thousands of dollars for the American Cancer Society’s research and patient service programs. Newark Relay for Life organized events throughout the year including Movies in the Park, Zumbathon and Paint the Town People. He is also involved in the Newark Senior Center’s Brown Bag program, Meals on Wheels and participates in animal rescue fundraising with his Frisbee dog, Gilroy.
