Looking again into the archives, we have found an article The Italian Job that Maggie did in June 2004 (a whole 10 years ago!) about taking sketches from your holidays and translating them into textile art. This technique used a paint program on the PC. A sketch was scanned in, coloured and manipulated to clone patterns to repeat. Then these finished designs were printed onto Lazertran and printable cotton. All worth a look back on and one of the samples uses another technique in the same issue by Terrie Hitchcock which produces great results. Maggie also recommends the Jan Beaney and Jean Littlejohn book A Sketch in Time, which looking on their website is no longer available, but for those lucky WoWies who might have it in their collection, would be worth another look.
