Looking at Johnah is a constant reminder of childhood cancers but, it is also an eye opening experience in observing the resilience of children. If you know Johnahs story then you know how sports minded our family is. This Saturday we were at Johnahs flag football game. The grandfather of one of his teammates sat next to me. He was discussing the St. Judes Ride and his participation in it. I apologized for overhearing and shared that Johnah is a St. jude kiddo. This gentleman has been involved with St. Jude since the 1970s. Thank God for people like him!!! The game continued and Johnah was a lineman (too funny since he is so tiny!). He was in a match up with a kid at least 12 inches taller than he is. For multiple plays Johnah and this kid blocked one another and Johnah stood his ground not giving an inch. I saw the coach from the other team come over to Johnah and I could lip read him say You are tough! Then, he gave Johnah a high 5. Coach, yes he is tough... You have no idea how tough he is!!!! Love lessons learned through life and sports! Go Ninja!!
