Looking at our Thailand program, where outreach is just as important as in our other programs, however the environment can be a little different. Let Thailand Program Director Ann explain... ...back in 2006 we started our outreach services in Government centers in Bangkok. These were centers where Cambodian caretakers and children who were rescued and protected were housed before repatriation, so it was important we worked with them to break the cycles that could lead them back to begging on the Bangkok streets. Later we expanded our outreach into strategic areas such as streets in the red light district in Bangkok, and vulnerable communities where caretakers were not earning enough money, so their children were not in school. That was when the basics of the Peuan Peuan program started….with the objective of saving lives and building futures for these children via education and skills training…
