When I was about 12 or 13 there was this surf club that was held by Raphs surf school, I remember I seeing Raph surf and all I wanted to do was surf like that. And I remember late Jack Bauer always took me out to surf with his 2 sons Nikko and Simon Bauer. We were groms, all I wanted to do was surf surf surf, I was addicted. 2. A lot of skateboarders say the time they spend skating helps them improve their skills in the water. How has skating translated to your surfing? Haha! Yeah It helps out a lot, I feel like I skate with a surf style and I surf with a skate style, I need to work on that, ha. And if the waves are flat theres always the skatepark, thats why I like skateboarding, its almost like surfing. 3. You just spent a lot of time in Hawaii and California. How do you think this has affected your surfing? Yeahhh! I was in Hawaii for about 3 and a half months, the level of surfing there is unreal! The kids are like little pros they already have a good style going on, theyre all good there, it has helped my surfing a lot, I was staying at a house near Adriano De Souzas house, and id always see him walking down to the beach to check the surf, I surfed with him a bunch, he showed me some stuff when we were there, surfing with him made me want to surf better. California was the same, but! There was probably double the surfers in the line up, a little harder to get waves, but I had fun there too! We stayed in a cabin about 30 minutes out of LA, it was rad! Good waves, good skateparks, I ate a lot of burritos in Cali, ha! So good! I wanna go back for sure! maybe this winter, I wanna do it all over again. 4. Do you have a scariest surfing moment? Every time the surf is big I have a scary feeling, always scared, yeah, almost all the time when Im in the water, Im scared. 5. Thoughts on the comp? Im in the amateur division this year, Im hyped!
