Looking at the most important races in this election, my opinion, the Jefferson County School Board Directors. The field has been geting fairly crowded and it is not done filling up yet. Right now the same old PTA-Union-Adminstration Candidates are Tonya Aultman-Bettridge, Jeff Lamontagne, and Gordon Van De Water. You can count on these candidates to continue the no accountability push to requesting more money form the taxpayer and parents. There are many great schools in Jefferson County, but do you ever hear about the one or two that have extremely high rates of below grade level students that are being left behind? Do you ever hear about parents, teachers, and principles request better curriculum only to be ignored by the administration? There are citizens and parents in Jefferson County that are willing to run for school board and ask these questions. We need these people to represent the parents and taxpayers of this county. Right now we have Julie Williams and Ken Witt for Jefferson County.
