Looking at the whole situation I believe that changing to a rushed two tier school system would potentially sacrifice a generation of children in the transformation from one system to the other. Many children would probably be spending much of their lesson time in a portacabin totally confused and not knowing why or how this happening. This would be while our other schools are possibly being sold off to raise finance for bigger new schools to be built?? If (big if) the two tier merges of our schools takes place, the transitional impact on these children who are caught up In all of this will be a huge. A for what exactly ????? That is one of the issues. Another is the cost. NO evidence exists to demonstrate that huge improvement will be achieved through this change or that this would be a life-changing event for the children academically. In terms of academic or other outcomes, the care given in middle schools—(Walkwood in my childs case) in the smaller school environment—can hugely enhance a childs education. If anything ...invest in what we ALREADY have and continue to make it work well.
