Looking at things happening for the last few months and only - TopicsExpress

Looking at things happening for the last few months and only worsening by the day - within and around the country - I am reminded of a brilliant puppetry / animation dance sequence composed by Satyajit Ray for his (supposedly) childrens film Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne (1968) in which the King of Ghosts is for some reason pleased with the protagonists Goopy and Bagha, the village idiots exiled to a forest and unveils for their benefit a psychedelic ghost dance. The dance, in fact, is an interpretation of history particularly highlighting war mongering and religious bigotry as the primary causes of strife all around (mercifully and optimistically depicted as self-destructing, too). Not included in this clip, but down the line, the King of Ghosts gives three boons to Goopy and Bagha - plenty of food, good music and transport - subject to their remaining together and for judicious use for benevolent purposes. A fantastic message of peace and harmony - which has never lost relevance since then!
