Looking back, I’m seeing that 2014 was a year I challenged myself and was true to myself. I finished revising THE WALLS AROUND US, and pushed myself so hard to make it the book I wanted and the best book I could, and now that book is coming out this March. And 2014 was the year I taught my first-ever in-person workshop-retreats at the Djerassi Resident Artists Program, an experience that really opened my eyes to how much I love teaching and basically changed my goals and trajectory in life. I taught two workshops there in 2014, and will be holding another this June. Now I know I want to do more teaching, which was a shocking and kind of delightful realization for me. There were also other challenges in 2014, personal ones, and I found myself isolating more and more, for reasons I don’t yet understand. But this month brought me out of my shell in a quiet, contemplative place and I feel ready for 2015. I will see you there. Happy New Year.
