*Looking for Advice/Opinion on Older Mouse Intros* I posted last night about one of my older mice girls passing, and thats brought up a few other issues. I have one old girl still, Raziah, and shes in with a younger mouse. I dont know how much longer Razz will be with me, and I dont want the other girl, Einy, to be alone when that happens. So I was thinking about adding a pair of my other girls to their cage, but Im not sure whether thats a good idea. Razz is a very laid back mouse, and likes just about all of my other girls that shes interacted with. I used to let her and Renae (the girl that passed) out on a table with another cage of girls, and there was never any issue. However, Einy has been known to bicker with other girls, and while I dont think shed hurt anyone and would settle down after awhile, I dont want the older girl to become stressed or receive any of the girls frustrations. I havent really had to deal with this yet, most of my girls were ether bought together- in the case of Razz and Renae- or been together since birth from one of my accidental litters. So Im looking for some input from a more experienced owner. Should I just leave the twosome together until my older girl passes? (Which, I suppose could be next month or next year, since she was from a pet store and I dont know how healthy her line is.) Maybe I could intro the two of them to the new mice separately, to let them each get used to their new friends at their own pace? I also have some very young girls, which may be my best option since they would be less likely to challenge Einy for alpha mouse?
