Looking for some help (vet is back out 2morra) my mare suffers with greasy heel on the back of her leg she had mite and it was very greasy so I started to cut the feather away like the vet said and under it I found a open wound that was only about the size of a 10 piece it keeps scabbing over but soon as she bend her leg the wound opens and is now getting bigger she is now kicking out every time I try and clean it or put cream or spray on it.. does any one no how I can dry the wound up so treat the mites ext. .. Please not this is on both legs and this is the worse one the first pic is what it gets like but soon as she runs about it crakes back open (I feel like Im loosing the battle as I cant seem to get on top of this problem)
