Looking forward to seeing my students at Southwestern College - TopicsExpress

Looking forward to seeing my students at Southwestern College today for the first time in twelve days -- that was one nice long spring break. In my three sections of World Religions were discussing Abraham and reading a few passages from Genesis together, tracing the roots of the Abrahamic faiths and the notion of participatory justice (the way Abraham argues with God over the hypothetical innocent of Sodom), and in my Asian Philosophy class were discussing the Four Noble Truths of Buddhism, specifically the second one, the challenging idea that dissatisfaction is largely caused by self-centered craving and attachment. Its a powerful day of exploration, contemplation, and self-examination. In other words, just another day in the vital and essential study of the humanities. I love my job.
