Looking forward to writing an exclusive piece next week about Oakland cannabis dispensaries, including the Prop Z places, that are essentially speakeasies. My guide, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, is a cannabis expert, and gives me a primer on this controversial topic, including the technical terminology, like THC vs THCA, and lab testing, as well as more practical concerns, like security in a town notorious for violent crime. I will try to get opposing commentary from Ms. Haag, the federal prosecutor who specializes in cannabis shop closures. Warning: the dialogue may become heated, but I will do my best to keep the discourse civil between these two chronically clashing forces, on the urban battleground, known as Oakland, California, aka the Wild West.
