Looks like fine flying weather today in our area. Just got done updating the Terminal Aerodrome Forecasts (we call themTAFs) which are aviation forecasts for the airports. We update them every 6 hours or when needed. The TAFs we provide are a specific, highly detailed, and coded 24 hour forecast. We issue a TAF for Burlington (airport identifier BTV), Montpelier (MPV), and Rutland, VT (RUT) and in NY Plattsburgh (PBG), Saranac Lake (SLK), and Massena (MSS). The TAFs includes the amount of cloud cover and how high above ground, the visibility and weather type, and wind direction/speed//wind shear information. Some high cirrus clouds are coming in from the west. Could be some lower clouds now in PA arriving late tonight as high pressure over the Canadian Maritimes circulates the moisture from Atlantic around the western periphery of the high. Heres the TAF for BTV. forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=BTV&product=TAF&issuedby=BTV If you have read this far, you must be interested, so heres how to decode the TAF. aviationweather.gov/static/help/taf-decode.php Have a good day.
