Looks like the end to the Air Balloon misery may be in sight. - TopicsExpress

Looks like the end to the Air Balloon misery may be in sight. Lets hope the solution doesnt damage the splendour of this area too much. After almost a year of campaigning, I am pleased to write to you to confirm that funding for the ‘Missing Link’ will be granted by the Government. We have finally had confirmation that the A417 Missing Link is one of 100 new road schemes across the UK to benefit from a £15 billion pot of money the Department for Transport will be investing in the country’s roads. This is great news for Gloucestershire and it proves that the thousands of residents, businesses and visitors who supported our campaign are right. Thank you for backing us. I’ve been overwhelmed by the amount of sign ups we have had to the petitions. Without your support I’m not sure the funding would have been granted, so I think today is a day we should all be celebrating. The Highways Agency, which owns the road, will now carry out careful examination of the A417 ‘Missing Link’ at the ‘Air Balloon’ roundabout, to develop the solution. The county council will continue to support the ‘A417 Loop’ to end the delays. We will keep you updated with any news on this essential scheme. Thank you again for your ongoing support.
