Loosing our Pier stings the most. I feel no connection to this place anymore, like Im floating around aimlessly. Miss the family, the hassling, colors, smell, the hoots.It gave meaning to this thing called surfing. The poles were OUR form of measurement. Like a ruler, it made very clear where you belonged. How courage, skill, positioning, games, patience and experience would pay off. Were groms would learn respect and may even gain it. And were others would quickly be pegged for lack there of. It was a meeting place, a melting pot. Lifes lessons in the purest form.Our Colosseum. I know this is whats missing and I know without asking the ones who feel the same.
