Lopsided Thoughts: I subscribe to several of those fire - TopicsExpress

Lopsided Thoughts: I subscribe to several of those fire notification pages on fb and just saw a post about a town with a working fire reported as a fire in the oven followed by a comment units on scene report fire out. Here is my issue. RHETORICAL QUESTION: How many people on the response end consider this a working fire? Hopefully, not many but I know youre out there. Im not talking about it possibly being a fire. Im talking about people who confirm there was no fire but tell their friends & coworkers they had a worker, job, gig or whatever their term is. Quit bullshitting yourself and those around you. First, you are setting yourself up to fail when you actually do get a hard, working fire. You may not think so but you will subconsciously convince yourself you have experience when you do not and your bullshit will be evident when shit hits the fan. Second, when it is figured out by others that your big job was nothing more than a turkey that got well done, any respect others had for you will be lost. We all know fires are down and decent experience is getting harder to get but telling yourself and others that you have more experience than you actually do will get you or others hurt or killed eventually. Admit that you dont have all the answers and others will stand by your side and teach/mentor/share with you. Stay aggressively safe!
