Lord, I Shall Forever Worship You “Hope deferred maketh the heart-sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.” Proverbs 13:12 KJV Disappointments Sadness caused by the non fulfillment of one’s hopes or expectations are highly rejected by most of us. Life cannot be lived fully without us getting emotionally hurt sooner or later. Unfortunately until the Lord returns for His Church, pain and disappointment in this world will be and are inevitable. How do we handle these unwelcome situations that seem to set us back and at times distorts our shape and our character that is now being prepared for eternity. Our attitudes are the pivotal factor determining the level of our immunity from strife .Now there is a thought for all of us to ponder on. Regardless of the hardships we have faced, and in spite of the mistakes we have made, the end of our lives can either be full of praise and thanksgiving to god or full of misery, whining and complaint to ourselves and those around us. I have minister to some that can actually clear the room in less than five minutes. One either becomes better with life or bitter with life. One either becomes seasoned with the Word of god or become insipid without it. In the final analysis, what we have experienced in life will be as rich as the desires we have had fulfilled in our lives or as painful as the things we regret having done. God has given us free to will to choose and the choices are really ours for the taking. The Bible tells us, “Hope deferred maketh the heart-sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.” Proverbs 13:12 KJV Those deep disappointments in life are designed to never leave us. But thank God for His Word that continues to renew our minds into the mind of Christ. “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12: 2 KJV These worldly impressions have a way of attaching themselves to us never leaving us if our hearts and minds are not protected by the Word of God. They will enter our hearts like venom and harden into our make up just like lava. These setbacks can leave us cautious, to put it lightly, about new ventures in our lives, They leave us suspicious of new relationships, friends, business partners, even churches, the word I should be using is really fearful which is an attribute of the devil and not of God. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1: 7 KJV These setbacks become strongholds in the mind and eventually in our lives. Our spiritual and emotional wounds when not dealt with on time, restricts our openness. We are fearful we will be hurt again by new relationships and gradually, unless we learn to handle heartache correctly through the judgements of God, we become embittered and resentful cynics. We lose the joy of being alive. Why am I say this so bluntly? Because I am surrounded by people who have allowed the downfalls of life to affect them to such a degree that not only are they a dangerous to others, they are dangerous to themselves. catacombsfellowship.org/article/lord-i-shall-forever-worship-you/
