Lord, You came into this earth as our friend and companion, and You continue to sweeten our lives with the gift of human friendship. Your sacrifice for us enables us to forgive friends and to ask for forgiveness, to give strength and to seek strength from them. Strengthen our present friendships and open us to new relationships, in which we may convey Your love, care, and concern to others. Give us discernment to know how to support those we love in troubled times and courage to stand by them in every difficulty. Bless our friends this day with Your presence, support, and favor, and bring us into the circle of friends and family that You gather around Yourself in eternity through Jesus, Your Son. Amen.
