Lorde & Trio Sol3 Mio lead New Zealand Music Award Nominations After conquering the world, 17-year-old Lorde is up for five New Zealand Music Awards with classical trio Sol3 Mio. Lorde is up for Best Album, Single of the Year for her song Team, Best Female Solo Artist, Best Pop Album for Pure Heroine, and the Peoples Choice Award. Last year Lorde picked up Single of the Year for her song Royals Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Peoples Choice Award and International Achievement. Brother-sister duo Broods scooped nominations for Single of the Year, Breakthrough Artist of the Year and the Peoples Choice Award. Hip hop artists Ladi6 and David Dallas are both nominated for four awards while the hip hop group that released a song before the election threatening to kill the Prime Minister John Key is up for Best Group. 1990s funk rock band Supergroove will be awarded the Legacy Award, given to Kiwi artists whove shaped the local music industry, and theyll be inducted into the NZ Music Hall of Fame. The NZ Music Award winners will be announced on November 20 at an awards show at Vector Arena where Tiny Ruins, Benny Tipene, Blacklistt, Sol3 Mio, Broods and David Dallas will perform.
