Lorde receives thunderous applause at the AMAs! New Zealand Superstar Lorde blew the audience away at the 2014 American Music Awards performing her track from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1. Lorde, whose real name is Ella Yelich-OConnor, burst out of a tiny cube to deliver an incredible performance dancing away in her own unique enchanting style wearing a white tummy-baring top as best gal pal Taylor danced in the audience. Lordes curly tresses swayed about as she enthusiastically shook her head along with the thumping beat. Proving her status as one of the most talented singers on the planet, Lorde dazzled on stage with her charismatic personality and energetic delivery. She threw her hands in the air as she closed her eyes, paying attention to the music cues. As the song finished, Ella purposefully smeared lipstick across her face before breaking out in a smile, clearly proud of her impressive performance and humbled by the thunderous applause. This is the first year Lorde has ever been considered for an American Music Award, and she was nominated for three big Awards including Favourite Pop/Rock Female Artist and favourite Pop/Rock Album. Lorde has had an incredible year, winning two Grammy Awards, three World Music Awards, two Billboard Music Awards and most recently, six statues at the New Zealand Music Awards
