Lords Day Thought: The Scripture says this: Genesis 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. The Scripture also says this: Hebrews 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you. When a Sisters husband and a Sisters Spiritual leadership disagree, whose rule should she follow? Case in point, I was a preacher in a Church many moons ago and the Bishop set up a new rule for how the Sisters had to dress. I told my wife she was not required to follow such a man-made unScriptural ordinance, and I caught flack from many of the Chuuch folk for rebellion against the man of God. My defense was that my authority/rule over my own wife trumped his authority/rule in the Church, and that he can keep his man-made ordinances for his own wife and leave mine out of it. Brothers, if your wife has more respect for what Bishop says than for what you say, when your authority/rule over your own wife is paralleled to that of Christs Rule over His Own Church in Scripture, you have a SERIOUS Spiritual problem in your household; these types of problems in a marriage and a household where Bishop comes before husband, eventually lead to your wife becoming one of the Bishops side chicks if you aint careful!
