Los Angeles: antonovich/annual-welfare-costs-for-children-of-illegal-aliens-exceeds-636-million-in-2012/ ANNUAL “WELFARE” COSTS FOR CHILDREN OF ILLEGAL ALIENS EXCEEDS $636 MILLION IN 2012 LOS ANGELES COUNTY—The Department of Public Social Services reported over $636 million in welfare and food stamp benefits were issued to illegal alien parents for their native-born children in 2012, announced Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich. The $636 million consisted of $234 million in CalWORKs (welfare) and $402 million in CalFresh (food stamps) — a $14 million increase over the previous year.
